Sound detection module for DIY projects
Sound detection module for DIY projects.
Can be used in conjunction with Arduino.
Dimensions: 32.2mm x 16.2mm x 10.5mm (LxWxH)32.2mm
Supply voltage: 3.3 to 5 Volt
Sensor Type: Electret Microphone
Signal Output Format: Digital Output, When the module detects no sound or the signal intensity is near the maximum limit then "OUT" is High and the LED is Off
When the signal is too high, "OUT" is Low and the LED is on.
The sensitivity can be set with the potentiometer.
The module only registers whether there is sound or not and therefore does not measure how loud the sound is.
Connecting:
"+5V" Supply voltage Plus
"GND" Supply voltage Min
"OUT" Output from the module can be directly connected to an Arduino, ATMEL, PIC or other MCU
Set up:
Turn the potentiometer clockwise until it stops and until the LED turns on. Then turn the potentiometer very slightly counterclockwise until the LED goes out, then make the desired sound intensity with your hands at a distance of about 50 cm until the LED turns on, this way you have set the correct level for sound detection for this module
Note: The output of the module is not suitable for direct control of a relay, a semiconductor such as a transistor will have to be used for this.
